Discussion

Danielle Greene, member of Alpha Phi and SafeZones

- LGBTQIA educating group on campus, go to other student groups and educate them on how LGBTQIA issues affect their group

- Plan an hour-long training for each sorority—email Danielle with three dates by next Tuesday, preferably after or before chapter

- dlgreene@wustl.edu

- Before each training, will send out survey (modeled after what Chi O did last semester) on how accepting/comfortable chapters/individuals are

- Buttons that say “Greek Women Support Our LGBTQIA Friends”

- Convincing fraternities to participate as well

- Talk to New Member Educators in late October about event for each new member class—understand Greek Life is open to all LGBTQIA people, change environment

- Incorporate into expectations of new members on Unity Day

- Talk with new exec boards about instilling values into sorority

- Greek women participate in Ally Day

- Ideas for trainings? Facts, make people aware that stereotype goes both ways (ie, Greeks aren’t inclusive)

- Presidents did training, so should have ideas too

- Please make sure friends know that LGBTQIA community is making an effort to do this, be enthusiastic—not a punishment, it’s not that people have been unaccepting in the past, just that we can always be more open

- SafeZones is also taking applications, would like to have more Greek members

Lucy updates

- Greek Emerging Leaders nominations are due Wednesday
